The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the annual National Merit Scholarship Program. The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition for the scholarships and recognition of students that is open to all U.S. high school students who meet published entry requirements. The program is conducted by National Merit Scholarship Corporation, a not for profit organization established in 1955 that operates without government assistance. The Semifinalists show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Twelve students who attend A-TECH qualified as Semifinalists by taking the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) during their junior year. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. The number of Semifinalists in a state is proportional to the state’s percentage of the national total of graduating seniors and represents the highest scoring entrants in the state of Nevada.

This year A-TECH has twelve students who have qualified as a Semifinalist in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. If you see these students please feel free to congratulate them on their outstanding efforts and encourage their pursuit of academic excellence: Jacqueline Balanovsky, Camila Beresford-Redman, Aaron Buff, Jonathan Burrer, Manav Dudhia, Benjamin Koppe, Timothy-Matthew Lim, Alan Lucero, Jack Marshall, Georgia Petroff, Christopher Vuong, Nicholas Wong.
