Class Behavioral Expectations

BASED ON MUTUAL RESPECT:

THE RIGHT OF THE TEACHER TO TEACH

THE RIGHT OF EACH STUDENT TO LEARN

Students are to be in their seats, ready to receive instruction when the bell rings. The tardy policy as outlined in the student handbook will be followed.
Students are to be equipped with all necessary learning materials every day.
(textbook, assignments, note-taking materials, subject notebook)
Students are to remain in class the entire period except in the case of an emergency. (bathroom, locker, and /or counselor visits should be arranged during breaks)
Classwork/Homework
    Bring all assigned work to class:
    Classwork/homework will be reviewed with the class or collected for individual evaluation 
    In-class assignments -randomly at the end of the class period
    Homework - will be collected randomly at the beginning of the next scheduled class meeting
    Projects - assigned due date
    Computer assignments and projects - upon completion
*Note: Special projects and computer assignments are subject to cut-off deadlines in order to properly assess student progress.
Students are required to initiate contact with the instructor before or after school for make-up quizzes, tests and assignments within three days upon returning to school following an absence. Make up work must be completed within three days of an absence. Students are encouraged to utilize after-school library labs and the plus bus scheduled each week.
Students are to use equipment, hardware, software, network, and peripherals in an appropriate and responsible manner. Irresponsible behavior will result in the loss of computer privileges. (To avoid accidents, no food or drink is allowed in the classroom)
Students are to be polite and considerate to the instructor and to their fellow classmates at all times.
Students are to respect the instructor's right to restricted areas of the classroom such as desk, closet, file cabinet, etc.
Students engaging in any conduct that interferes with teacher instruction and/or student learning will be dealt with according to the progressive citizenship/conduct plan.
Any unauthorized sharing of student work and/or network files will result in a zero for that assignment(s).
